Madison, WI Attractions

     My family and I travel to Madison, WI a lot especially when my brother was going to Platteville Wisconsin to school. This would make a great place to just to get away for the weekend. They have some places that you can stay at, so you don’t have to worry about not having a place to stay at and they have some amazing attractions that you must see.

                If you are going around this time of year, that winter is just slipping away and just finally getting nice out that you can finally do some enjoyable things. Madison, WI have the Cave of the Mounds that have icebergs hanging from it. Trust me some of those ice bergs are huge! This is a pretty big attraction to take your children to because they are just amazed by it. You can also explore the different gemstones, mines, fossils and many more. They also have a huge butterfly garden filled with beautiful butterflies, and right beside it there’s a many nature trials that you go on and see the butterflies too.  There’s also group sessions that does tours of everything, which I think would be very neat do sometime because you can learn more and learn things that you didn’t know and they might even get to do things that you wouldn’t get to do if you just went by yourself. This place is awesome place to explore and go check out.

                Madison also has a huge zoo that you and your family could go for the day. The plus side is that you there is no charge and is a great way to spend the day with your family and have fun! They have tons of animals and always expanding on their zoo, which attracts people every year to see what’s new. They always have different shows going on for your family to watch and different things that you can do throughout the day, and it’s such a in expensive  thing that you can do while you are on your vacation which is always a plus because you already have all the other expenses.

                You can also visit the capitol while in your Madison, WI. Which I bet you didn’t know that, because you wasn’t in Washington D.C. But this is the state Capitol, and I think it’s awesome.  They give tours and you can do so many things while you’re there.  They even host some events that you can attend, which would be neat. 

                Madison, WI has so many attraction it’s unbelievable, you can have your vacation booked filled when you are planning your trip there.

Galena, Iowa

     Are you a type of person that like to snow board/ski and traveling from out of town to Iowa? Well Iowa has some good ski mountain such as Sundown which is located in Dubuque but Chestnut mountain is awesome but that one is a little further way, that on you can fine in Galena. They are both awesome and places to go snowboarding and skiing and you can find some good slopes/hills. You are always seeing improvements on the places every time I go.

                It’s amazing to go out skiing/snowboarding whatever you like to do best at night because they have some awesome views while you’re sliding down those slopes pretty fast and the sunset is just beautiful. You’ll have to go at least once at the night so you can see what I mean and get the experience of the night time, it’s pretty amazing. They have many slopes you wouldn’t believe it, and if you aren’t the greatest at it they have the tiny slopes that you can start off with and get some practice. Having your guides/ helpers is available is that helps you get better and is there if anything happens. Which is always a plus. 

                If you are planning on going skiing/ snowboarding a lot throughout your vacation, Chestnut Mountain even has their own resort.  You can even pick which side of the resort you would like to stay on; such as the slope side. They have indoor pools, sauna, and Jacuzzi. And just kept up very nice you wouldn’t believe it.  They have restaurants all around the mountains and they serve awesome food.  The one restaurant- The Sunset Grille is a dining restaurant and even serves any kind beer, wine etc. And you wouldn’t believe, they have tons of T.Vs that you can catch any games or anything. This would be a great place if you are trying to warm up. There’s also a restaurant called the Mountain Top Café, this is more a top and grab a bit (a fast food/drive through). These places are really nice especially when you’re really anxious to get back on those slopes. There are other restaurants that you’ll have to check out too. Also they have shops that you can buy apparel and other neat things.

                Galena just doesn’t have Chestnut they also have tons have neat shops that you can going shopping in.  It’s pretty much all on one street that you can go in and out of different shops and they kind of remind me of antiques stores. These shops have anything from clothing, food, to garden stuff. You can pretty much anything and in these neat shops. My family and I always have a blast going to these antiques shops and just having a girl’s day!

                Galena has so much things that you can do even if you’re going in the winter or the summer. They have so many attractions it’s hard to believe and it’s such a beautiful place to visit. I would really recommend for you and your family to take a getaway up there to see what it’s like.

Kite Festivial!

     Is your family getting really excited with the weather finally getting warmer and spring is finally is finally approaching! Well I know I am, I am so tired of this cold weather and worried what kind of condition I was going to have to drive in when I woke up in the morning. But your family is looking for one last wintery thing to do together? Well the KiteFestival in Clear Lake is an awesome thing that you could go do as a family. You can even do it as a weekend getaway. 

                How would you like to sit with thousands of other people in huge area on a big piece of ice, watching amazing kites over the top of you? Trust me its amazing view and some of these kites are gigantic and just awesome looking, nothing that you would never have seen before. This will gone go on for a couple of hours that they will fly these kites. And these aren’t some ordinary kites, these are special kites that you’ve never seen before.           

                They also have tons of other activities going on throughout the day that you and your family could really enjoy.  Such as a huge caterpillar just floating around that even walks right over top of you and rolls all over you. There’s even a jazz band playing during the kite flying and always have such great music that you can listen to.

                There’s also an art center that you can take your little children to and they can do all sorts of crafts, which I think is always fun to do. The people at the center always have neat ideas planned to with the kids and a lot of different ideas so it’s not the same thing over and over. Some of these arts you wouldn’t think of to do. I think it’s a really neat idea for them to do this.

                They also have all of these other activities going on throughout the day that you and your family can enjoy along with watching some amazing kite flying. So head on out to Clear Lake, Iowa for a weekend getaway and have a fun family outing, a plus a lot of things don’t cost!
