Back Bone State Park

Most people are getting so exciting with winter passing and spring approaching. I’m getting so pumped to finally able to start doing things outside and spring things. One thing that out family and I like to go to a couple of times a couple of year in Back Bone State Park. It’s located in Dundee, Iowa. There are tons of things that you can do, from swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, having picnics, camping and many more fun things that you can do. It would be great get away.
They have a huge place that you can go boating. You can either bring your own boat or you can rent a boat. There’s different kind of boating that you do such as paddle boating, which is really fun in my opinion I always have a blast when I go. But you can choose what you want to do. You’ll be floating down the Mississippi River on the sunny down, listening the rippling water is the best way to spend a good Saturday day or any warm day. Especially when the rippling of the clear blue water is a very soft noise is the best.
Hiking is another very big entertainment when we go up Back Bone. And there’s many ways that you can through this trail trust me this trail is very beautiful. You can walk, drive, and ride your bike just however you like to go through trail. But you have to really think about before you start this hike on this trail because some of the trails that you are on are about twenty-one miles long.  When you are up there I would recommend to go on these trails at least once because there are so many sight seeing that you would miss out if you wouldn’t go on these trails. There are some beautiful trees, birds chirping, fish pond things and many more things that you can see.  With us in used to be living Manchester we liked to go on a Sunday afternoon and decide to take a drive up there and its always so nice because it’s not that far and we always awesome scenery.
Then you can go swimming at the big huge lake that is covered with sand all around it. It’s always so busy with kids splashing through the water and having a blast. You can bring anything in that you want to like inter tubes, toys and anything that your child would like to play with. But in my opinion  I don’t like playing in the water because I think it’s kind of gross and would rather pay a couple of dollars and go to the public swimming pool.
Then you can finish you day with just on site and either staying in a cabin or saving yourself a spot and putting your tent/ camper and staying in there. Either way is a great way to stay and would be fun which way you choose. They have really nice cabins; they are made out of wood and just amazing inside.  Each camp site has their own fire pit that you can roast hot dogs, s’mores, and just sit around and the bone fire and have a nice night. There’s also grills there that you can cook you suppers too but you can also bring your own grill and even pack sandwiches and stuff for your lunch like we always do every year. Our family and I get together and go up there and have a picnic. So it’s nice that you don’t have to worry about having meals when you’re there. I would totally recommend this place and would go check this out.
